The first time I ever saw Armando Lucero perform he played the jester in the Dick Foster illusion show Mystique featuring Joaquin Ayala and Lily. Armando warmed up the crowd dressed in in full jester costume, and performed Paper Balls over the Head. He was amazing. Fast forward a decade or more and I find myself sitting down to learn from a true master. IN the photo above Armando is now talking my language: with more than few packs of cards to hand, and we sit down to study the craft we both love. Armando the teacher, to my student. It's a great privelege to have spent time learning Armando's unique sleight of hand and philosophy on magic and performance, and I recently found this photo that I hadn't seen before.
